Ann (Waldecker) Bartels

November 15, 1941 — November 19, 2019

Ann Waldecker Bartels, 78, of Mt. Sterling, died Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at Windsor Care Center.  She was born in Washington, D.C. on November 15, 1941 to the late Colonel Charles Duane and Patricia Royce Barringer Waldecker.

Ann grew up in a military family who lived in several locations such as Washington, D.C. and Hawaii.  In 1963 she moved to the Mt. Sterling area from Maryland and later pursued a career in the healthcare field as a registered nurse.  Ann belonged to Ascension Episcopal Church and was a member of Daughters of the King of the Episcopal Church.  She enjoyed horseback riding, loved animals and was passionate about her church, family and friends.  They will all miss her dearly.

She is survived by her loving husband of thirty-five years, Chuck Bartels of Mt. Sterling; one son, Andy Woodford of Louisville; one daughter, Morgan Woodford of Mt. Sterling and one sister, Joanie Beach (Steve) of Rehoboth Beach, DE.

In addition to her parents, Ann was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Jane Jones.

Memorial service will be Friday, December 6, 2019 at 3:00PM.  Visitation will be prior from 2:00PM to 3:00PM, services will be at the Ascension Episcopal Church.  Inurnment will follow in the church's garden.
