Anne Carlton Perkins McFadden, age 90, of Winchester, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 10, 2026, at her home. She was born on October 26, 1935, in Williamson, West Virginia. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Dr. Don C. McFadden, Jr., her parents, Guy Whitney Perkins and Annie Carlton Perkins, as well as a brother Whitney Perkins and a sister, Patricia Perkins Sholar. She attended Georgetown College in Georgetown, Kentucky, where she graduated in 1957, with a degree of Bachelor of Education, and Duke University in 1959, where she graduated with a degree of Master of Education.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mt. Sterling, where she taught Sunday School. She engaged in various charitable endeavors during her life including serving for many years as a volunteer at the University of Kentucky Art Museum and as a supporter of the Lexington Philharmonic Orchestra.
She is survived by two children, six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; daughter, Laurie McFadden Miller (Bobby) of Ponte Vedra Beach Florida (formerly of Paducah, Kentucky); son, Don C. McFadden, III (Beth) of Winchester, Kentucky; grandchildren, Susan Keffer (Michael) of Winchester, Kentucky; Laura Anne McFadden (Sam) of Chicago, Illinois; Sarah McFadden Barrett of Winchester, Kentucky; Caroline Miller Little (Austin) of Lexington, Kentucky; and Catherine Miller Young (Ben) of Albuquerque, New Mexico; great grandchildren, Mary Beth Keffer, Benjamin Barrett, Piper Little, Nora Little, Griffin Little and Eliza Young. One niece and one nephew also survive her.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to her devoted caregivers, Marguerite Garcia, Christine Grimes, Aneesah Dennis, and Tish Baker, for their compassionate care and kindness.
A private family service will be held at the Machpelah Cemetery, Mt. Sterling, Kentucky. In lieu of flowers, please consider a charitable donation to The Hospice East, 407 Shoppers Drive, Winchester, Kentucky 40391, or a charity of your choice.
