Arthur Eugene "Gene" Barnes

Arthur Eugene "Gene" Barnes, 84, of Jeffersonville, died, November 11, 2015, at his residence. He was born September 27, 1931 in Montgomery County to the late Eulice and Anna Grooms Barnes.
Gene was a Montgomery County native, he retired from the state as a Forestry Ranger, a United States Army veteran and a member of the Jeffersonville Baptist Church. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include; one daughter, Kem Lee (Jason) of Jeffersonville; two sons, Bobby Barnes (Sheila) and Brian Barnes, both of Mt. Sterling; two sisters, Betty McGee of Jeffersonville and Patty Tuttle (Carl) of Todd, North Carolina; four grandchildren, Alexes Lee, Colby Lee, both of Jeffersonville, Chase Barnes, Haley Barnes, both of Mt. Sterling; previous wife and the mother to his children, Sandy Barnes.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his nephews, Doug Stamper and Chris Craig.
