Barbara Lee Lawson

Barbara Lee Lawson, 53, of Elizabethtown, died Sunday, May 15, 2016 at Hardin Memorial Hospital. She was born April 7, 1963 in Montgomery County to the late Carl and Deloris Thompson Lawson.

Barbara was a Montgomery County native, an Insurance Agent and attended the Jeffersonville Assembly of God. She was a 1981 graduate of Montgomery County High School where she played high school basketball.  Barbara had an outgoing personality, never met a stranger, loved to talk and was known for being a peacemaker. She enjoyed music, going to concerts and was a huge UK basketball fan.  She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Survivors include; one daughter, DeElla Chandler of Bardstown; three brothers, Gary Lawson (Joyce) of Winchester, Larry Lawson (Faye) of Richmond and Tater Lawson of Mt. Sterling; five sisters, Sandy Barnes of Mt. Sterling, Carol Ann Lawson (Darrell) of Mt. Sterling, Joann Lawson of Bardstown, Patty Martin of Mt. Sterling, and Sharon Romine (Shawn Albert) of Elizabethtown; three grandchildren, Blake Chandler and Morgan Chandler both of Mt. Sterling, and Kaylee Vance of Elizabethtown; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; beloved dog, Tanner.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Marilyn Jones; nephew, Chris Craig; great nephew, Travis Cundiff; niece, Tammy Raines; son-in-law, Matt Chandler; two brothers-in-law, Robert Jones and Gene Barnes.

Pallbearers: Mike Lawson, Mark Schultz, Brian Barnes, Bob Caudill, Chad Lawson, Josh Mobley, Bobby Barnes, and Roger Murphy.

Honorary Pallbearers: Alisha Caudill, Sherry Risner, Angie Cole, Charlotte Mobley, Kem Lee, Tracy Shrout, and Shawna Snowden.
