Betty Rose Markland

November 8, 1940 — March 11, 2015

Betty Rose Risner Markland, 74, of Salyersville, formerly of Mt. Sterling, died Wednesday morning, March 11, 2015, at Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center in Paintsville. She was born November 8, 1940 to the late Randolph Risner and Katherine Gullett Williams.

Betty was a Montgomery County native; a homemaker and past member of Reid Village Baptist Church. She enjoyed having Bible study and was an avid UK basketball fan.

Survivors include; two sons, Jeffrey "Randy Boone" Markland (Kelly) and Terry Arnett both of Salyersville; four daughters, Lisa Fogle (Will) and Brenda Gail Risner both of Mt. Sterling, Kathy Lykins of West Liberty and Kay Isaac (Matthew) of Salyersville; three sisters, Carolyn Jones of Mt. Sterling, Sandy Perkins (James) of Ezel and Tonja Helton (Nathan) of Salyersville; son-in-law, Mike Davis of Lexington; ten grandchildren; eight great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Markland; a daughter, Virgilene Davis; a granddaughter, Christy Risner; two brothers, Carl Risner and Tom Risner.

Pallbearers: William Shultz, Homer Smith, Jacob Isaac, Jamie Perkins, Bo Queen, and Will Fogle.

Honorary Pallbearers: Pat Creech, Harold Markland, James Perkins, and Gary Risner.
