Billy James Canada, passed away peacefully at UK St. Claire Regional Medical Center on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at the age of 74. Born on June 24, 1951, in Covina, California, to the late Billie and Ruth Elliott Canada. Billy spent his life embodying the spirit of hard work, patriotism, and community service.
A proud Chief Petty Officer, Billy served 22 years in the United States Navy. His commitment to his country was unmatched, and he proudly held the rank of E7 at the time of his retirement. After moving from Carter County to Menifee County three years ago, he continued to embrace the values that defined him throughout his life.
Billy is survived by his loving wife, Karen Roberts Canada, with whom he shared 19 years of marriage; children, Michelle Heino (Robert), Rebecca Canada , Victoria Canada, Matthew Canada (Lisa), Martin Picazo (Adriana) and Paul Picazo (Jessica); grandchildren, Rebah Heino, Ben Heino, Phoebe Heino, Gavin Rodriquez, Grey Canada, Ellie Canada, Zander Canada, Martin A. Picazo, and Celeste Rose; brother, Mickey Canada (Pam). Billy's love for his family was boundless; he would travel day and night to be with them, cherishing every moment spent together.
In addition to his late parents, Billy is preceded in death by his brother, Don Canada.
A man of many talents, Billy was a remarkable auto mechanic and an accomplished woodworker, known for creating beautiful cabinetry and crafting with tools collected over the years. He had a genuine passion for the outdoors. Whether flathead catfishing, off-roading with his Jeeps on desert trails or mountain paths, or camping under the stars, he found joy in nature.
As an avid NASCAR fan, Billy enjoyed racing culture and spent countless hours cheering for his favorite drivers. He had a deep affection for animals, sharing his home with horses, chickens, goats, and dogs, all of whom brought him immense joy.

In a world that often overlooks the small acts of kindness and craftsmanship, Billy Canada stood out as a true gentleman, and his absence will be felt deeply by all who knew him. His spirit will forever be imprinted in the hearts of those who loved him.
