Bobbie Jean (Duncan) Haddix

November 2, 1950 — July 15, 2021

A limb has fallen from our family tree.  Our hearts are aching, but heaven is one star brighter.  The most beautiful person in the world has gone home to Jesus.

Bobbie Jean Haddix was born on Thursday, November 2, 1950 – and died Thursday, July 15, 2021.  The birth and death of Bobbie Jean, however, is not as relevant as all the days and nights that she lived between those two dates.  She lived a happy life so today we celebrate the dash between the day she entered and left it.

She was a devoted daughter, an energetic teenager, a loving wife, a comforting mother, a grandmother called Honey, that without complaint spoiled her grandchildren and, a wonderful sister.

She met the love of her life, Mike, in her thirteenth summer while visiting her aunt and uncle.  She proclaimed the day she met him that she was going to marry him and when she set her mind to something, nothing was going to get in her way.  Fifty-seven years, one child, two grandsons and two step granddaughters later just goes to show that true love does exist.

She loved the Lord, her family, sixties music, art, photography, sewing, baking, tea parties with her sisters and watching her grandsons play ball.

There were no buildings named after her, no monuments erected in her honor, but if you knew her, she made your life a little better.  Her moral insight and strength of character will live on forever.

She is proceeded in death by her parents, Bob and Doris Duncan and her in-laws, Bill and Elizabeth Haddix.

Left behind to carry on her legacy is her husband of fifty years, Mike Haddix of Mt. Sterling, her greatest accomplishment, her son, Christopher Haddix, (Linda) of Mt. Sterling, her pride and joy in life, her grandsons, Will Haddix and Harrison Haddix of Mt. Sterling, two step granddaughters, Madeline Hatton and Sophie Hatton of Mt. Sterling and her brother-in-law, Randy Haddix, Chillicothe, Ohio.  She was born the oldest of five children and her siblings, Manuel Duncan, Mt. Sterling, Janie Jones, (Bobby), Owingsville, Mary Ann Petitt, (Millard), Sharpsburg and Doris Rene Potter, (Tony), Mt. Sterling also survive.  She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

Though her body was frail and tired, her spirit was full of grateful appreciation to be able to draw another determined breath every second she was graced on earth.  She lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures and was happy to leave when the Lord called her into his eternal care.
