Bobbie Arnold McCarty, 85, of Mt. Sterling, died Saturday evening, December 8, 2012 at his residence. He was born September 25, 1927 in Mt. Sterling to the late Elbert Boyd and Nettie Thomas McCarty.
Bobbie was a native of Montgomery County, a United States Army Veteran, and he served on the Board of Directors for the Montgomery County Humane Society. He was retired from Chick Masters where he worked as a sales and service representative. Bobbie enjoyed traveling, had a passion for nice cars, but most of all he loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include; one son, Terry McCarty (Marcella) of Mt. Sterling; two daughters, Karen McCarty of Mt. Sterling and Jackie Nickell (Steve) of Lawrenceburg; two sisters, Anna Boyd Rice and Patty Rae Carter both of Winchester; two grandchildren, Joe Tipton (Katie) of Georgetown and Jeffrey Tipton of Mt. Sterling; one great grandchild, Sylas Tipton of Georgetown.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Anna "Lou" McCarty, and one brother, David French.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made to the Montgomery County Humane Society, PO Box 123, Mt. Sterling, KY 40353 or a charity of your choice.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at 1:00PM at Machpelah Cemetery. Pastor Bill Fulton will be officiating.
