Brenda Lynn Flowers, a beloved photographer, artist, entrepreneur and cherished family member, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 6, 2025, at the age of 72. Born on August 31, 1953, in New York, New York, to the late Jessie and Deloris Pena Vaughn. Brenda touched the lives of many through her creative spirit and her unwavering love for her family.
Residing in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, Brenda built a life filled with artistic endeavors. She was a self-employed photographer who infused her passion for the craft into every moment captured, thriving in her own dark room where her creativity flourished. In addition to photography, she enjoyed woodworking, jewelry-making, and painting, always seeking to express her creativity and produce something beautiful with her hands. Brenda's zest for life was reflected in her favorite season-Christmas-and her love for the beach, where she found joy with her toes in the sand and her body in the warm water.
Brenda was preceded in death by her beloved pets, who brought her endless joy and companionship. She is survived by her husband, Joseph Flowers. Her children, Deanna Johnson (Durrance), Jessica Miller (Gerard Crawford), and Ryan Harris; grandchildren, Desiree Thibedeau, Laura Thibedeau, and Travis Lowery; 7 great grandchildren ; siblings, Gabrial Vaughn, Jesse Vaughn (Jane), Glenn Vaughn, Teresa Vaughn Mattingly (Jeff), Wendy Vaughn Williams (Martin), and Jim Vaughn (Brandy); bonus sister, Kelly Donovan Bohms; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Her family was her pride and joy, and she will be remembered for her infectious smile, her sense of humor, and her loving, caring nature.
