Carl Edward Rothwell

Carl Edward Rothwell, 62, of Mt. Sterling, passed away on Wednesday morning, August 2, 2023 at St. Joseph Hospital, Lexington.  He was born in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky on May 17, 1961 to Frank Rothwell, Sr. and Delores Elam Rothwell Ballard.

Carl had been a resident of Montgomery County for the past fifteen years, following his move from Middletown, Ohio, he was of the Christian faith and attended The Gift of Love church.  He was a former security officer and enjoyed fishing and working on things, he was a handy man.  He was a kind hearted person and loved ministering to others.  He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Carl is survived by his loving wife of twenty years, Dena Horner Rothwell of Mt. Sterling; sons, Charles Rothwell of Franklin, Ohio and Timmy Rothwell of Franklin, Ohio; daughters, Patty Rothwell of Franklin, Ohio and Angel Horner of Hamilton, Ohio; eight grandchildren ; three sisters, Vondrine Rothwell Wattenburger (Jack) of Winchester, Margaret Powell (Jack) of Mt. Sterling and Maggie Fitzgerald (JR) of Middletown Ohio.

In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by his son, Keithie Decker and his brother, Charles Rothwell, Jr.
