Carolyn Sue Evans

August 19, 1953 — May 25, 2014

Carolyn Evans, 60, of Mount Sterling, KY, passed away at her home early Sunday morning surrounded by her family.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 27, at First Christian Church, Mount Sterling, from 12:00-2:00, followed by a memorial service at 2:00.

Carolyn was born to Jackie Smiley Moore and the late Howard Moore, Jr. on August 19, 1953 in Louisa, KY.

She was survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Reid Evans; daughter, Megan McCormick (Michael), grandson, Noah; son, Vance Evans (Christie), granddaughter, Alley, and grandson, Case; sister-in-law, Bettie Lou Evans (Stan Rullman); sisters: Brenda Jackson (Lonnie), Barbara Burden (Edwin), Debbie Goodpaster (David); brother, Randy Moore.

Carolyn was co-valedictorian of Montgomery Co. High School Class of 1971, Served as Treasurer of the Mt. Sterling Woman's Club, Board Member of the Mt. Sterling-Montgomery Co. Library, Trustee of Mary Chiles Hospital, and Treasurer for Montgomery Co. Council for the Arts.

Carolyn worked as Accountant for Southern Wood Treatment Co for 32 years, Accountant for Andover Golf and Country Club for 3 ½ years, Administrative Assistant to Mr. Bob Babbage and finished out her career as Treasurer for the Montgomery County Fiscal Court.

Carolyn touched several lives in her own special way and was loved by many. She had a witty sense of humor that kept you on your toes. Carolyn's wealth of knowledge was impressive and her passion for her family was undeniable. Most importantly her selfless and caring devotion as a wife, a mother, a grandmother, a sister, a daughter, a co-worker and a friend, is how we will remember her forever.

Her husband and daughter would like to say a special thank you to her sisters Brenda, Barbara, and Debbie for being by her side every step of the way with us during this battle.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to St. Claire Regional Medical Center Hospice & Palliative Care and the Montgomery County Council for the Arts.
