Clifton Ray Beam, 82 of Camargo died Monday, September 28, 2020 peacefully at home surrounded by his family.

He was born in Mt. Sterling, September 14, 1938 to the late Bennett and Dorothy Beam.

He was a lifelong resident of Camargo and a graduate from Camargo High School. He held Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree from Morehead State University.

Ray was a retired school teacher and counselor from Montgomery County School System.

He was a member of Camargo Church of God where he served as Sunday School teacher, youth leader, and served on several boards throughout the years.

Ray was a locally known artist who has received numerous awards for his oils and water colors. His artwork is proudly displayed in many businesses throughout the community. He was a member of the Gate City Fine Arts Guild, he taught a weekly art class at Gateway Regional Art Center, and for 10 years taught art to Hillcrest Home for Boys.

Ray enjoyed the beach, lighthouses, and collecting Santa Clauses. Among all of his achievements in his career, art, and education his greatest accomplishment and biggest blessing was his loving marriage to the apple of his eye his sweetheart of 57 years Rebekah Lou, his precious family, his son, his daughter-in-law, his grandsons, their beautiful wives and his sweet June Bug Harper Jade.

Ray is survived by his wife Becky of Camargo. His son Greg (Sherri) of Camargo, 2 grandsons Jeremy (Sara) of California, Jonathan (Alisha) of Camargo and great granddaughter Harper.

One brother James Beam of Trenton, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother Donald Beam.

Funeral will be held Friday, October 2 at 10:00AM. Visitation will take place Thursday, October 1 from 5:00PM-8:00PM. Both will take place at Camargo Church of God with Pastor Aaron Conn officiating the service. Committal will follow the funeral at Machpelah Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be, Jeremy Beam, Jonathan Beam, John Allen Klaber, Larry Bill Klaber, Jeral Don Williams, Kyle Raymond Williams, Kurt Williams, and Banning Ballard.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Tommy Orme, Greg Barnett, Bill Keath, Alonzo Banks, Steve Long, John Powell, and FM Sponcil.
