A special person remembered

A beautiful life honored

Clo McAfee Evans, 87, passed away on April 26, 2014 surrounded by her family. The daughter of Tony and Mattie Bunnell McAfee. She spent her childhood in Wilson, Arkansas surrounded by her six sisters and two brothers. Life was never dull and while attending a dance for the military, she met her future husband, Capt. Joe Ashby Evans. He announced to her sisters' suitors that he had "arrived first and picked the best." Throughout their life together in Mt. Sterling, she was a member of the First Baptist Church, active in her community and enjoyed a sixty-year friendship with her bridge club.

Survivors include two children and their spouses, Nancy E. Nardiello (Drew), Joe A. Evans III (Sharon); three grandchildren, Dr. Allison Evans Bolton (Jeff), Taylor C. Evans, and Nick Nardiello; three great-grandchildren: Cooper, Reid and Will Bolton; her brothers T.J McAfee and Billy Joe McAfee, her sisters: Virginia Heiman, Suzy Robinson and Toni Downs.

She was preceded in death by her husband , Joe A. Evans, Jr. And three sisters; Lewell Mae Wingfield, Ruth Gwyn and Dorothy Wilson.

The family extends a special thank you to the many friends and family members for their tremendous love and support. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, 925 Woodford Drive, Mt. Sterling, Ky.40353 or The Gateway Regional Center for the Arts, P.O Box 128, Mt. Sterling, Ky. 40353.
