Daniel "Dan" Robert Jackson

Daniel "Dan" Robert Jackson, 46, of Mt. Sterling, died Friday afternoon, March 3, 2017 at the VA Medical Center in Lexington. He was born September 17, 1970 in Warren, Ohio to Carl Jackson, Sr. and Diana Lynn Moore Staton.

Dan moved to Montgomery County in 2012 from Owingsville, he was a church member and a member of the praise and worship band at Gateway Christian Church, previously employed as an analyst at Lockheed Martin, graduated from Bath County High School in 1988 and Morehead State University with BS in engineering and was a United States Navy veteran.  Dan was a talented musician, he played numerous instruments and sang.  He was always involved with the youth; a home school teacher with the Checo Group, Bath County 4-H photography class, Montgomery County track team pole vault coach and he coached numerous Bath County Little League baseball teams.  Dan had numerous hobbies and interests; photography, carpentry, cooking, landscaping and crocheting.  He will be dearly missed by his family, church family and friends.

Survivors include; his beloved wife Angela Sparks Jackson of Mt. Sterling; two children, Connor Jackson and Briana Jackson, both of Mt. Sterling; mother, Lynn Moore Staton of Newton Falls, Ohio; two brothers, Jay Jackson (Caroline) of Franklin, Tennessee and David Staton of the Philippines; two sisters, Sheri Lyn Still (Jimmy) of Gainesville, Florida and Kristin Staton Hall (Matt) of Savannah, Georgia; father & mother-in-law, Roger and Karen Sparks of Owingsville; one brother-in-law, Lee Sparks of Owingsville and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Jackson, Sr. and step father, Bill Staton.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations towards Gateway Christian Church.

Memorial service will be Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at 7:00PM. Visitation will be prior from 5:00PM to 7:00PM, services will be at the Gateway Christian Church.  Pastors' Bill Kilgore, Seth Lawson and Ron Weaver will be officiating.
