David Richard Smith, 80, of Owingsville, died Thursday morning, January 15, 2015 at his residence. He was born June 30, 1934 in Paris, Arkansas, to the late Benjamin Franklin and Oral Mae Johnson Smith.
David moved to Bath County about 15 years ago from Chino Valley, Arizona. He honorably served his country in the United States Air Force and formerly owned a fleet of catering trucks in Southern, California. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but his greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family.
Survivors include; four sons, David Pike, Daniel Smith, Dwayne Ray Smith, and Timothy Richard Smith all of Mt. Sterling; two daughters, Debra Coberly of Lake Elsinore, California and Tracie Bierschbach of Rochchester, Minnesota; one brothers; three sisters; twelve grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Ronald Brown of Prescott, Arizona.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Eunice Joeen Brown Smith.
