With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Deidre Dianne Davis Liggett, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, who departed this life on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at the age of 56. Deidre was born on October 8, 1968, in Mt. Sterling. She lived a life rich in creativity and compassion, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her.

Deidre was known for her vibrant personality and zest for life. She possessed a remarkable ability to connect with people, always radiating positivity and warmth. Her passion for reading and writing poetry articulated her innermost thoughts and feelings, and her love for cats, especially rescuing strays, revealed her nurturing spirit. Deidre had a curious mind and a keen interest in learning about Japan, reflecting her adventurous and open-hearted nature. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she delighted in creating memories with them in her full-of-life manner, always approaching challenges with an upbeat spirit and a hint of rebellion.

Above all, Deidre cherished her family. She is survived by her children, Michael Liggett (Emily), Kevin Liggett (Presley), and Jared Liggett; grandchildren, Strider Liggett, Gideon Liggett, Abel Liggett, and Vega Liggett; mother, Patricia Watson Bailey; siblings, Mark Davis, Elisha Bailey, Kristi Bailey, and Karen Vice (Adam); fur baby, Hercules; significant other, Chris Shepherd; a host of nieces and nephews. 

Deidre is preceded in death by her father, Palmer Davis, Jr.

Deidre's family will be having a Celebration of Life, details of the ceremony will be shared in the coming days, allowing friends and loved ones to gather and celebrate the legacy of a woman who embraced life in all its beauty.

Deidre Dianne Liggett will be profoundly missed, but her spirit will forever echo in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known her. May she rest in peace.
