Dewey D. Stone

April 6, 1934 — December 2, 2021

Dewey D. Stone, 87, of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky passed away on Thursday evening, December 2, 2021 surrounded by his loving family at his residence.  He was born in Knox, Texas  on April 6, 1934 to the late Hershel and Edna Ruth Mason Stone.

Dewey has been a resident of Montgomery County for the last twenty-nine years, following his move from Texas. He was of the Christian faith and a member of the Howards Mill First Church Of God.  He was a Master Mason and a school bus driver for the Montgomery County School System.  He enjoyed all the preschool children, providing them with snacks and worrying about their well-being.  He was a real rodeo cowboy.  He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Dewey is survived by his loving wife; Judy Stone of Mt. Sterling; two daughters; Deweylene Lapori (Mark) of Texas and Sydney Harper (Bobby) of Texas; two stepsons; Kevin Esteppe of Jeffersonville and Bobby Esteppe of Rome, Georgia; two grandchildren; Kanada Esteppe of Jeffersonville and Kadin Esteppe of Jeffersonville; one brother; Hershel Emery Stone (Joan) of New Mexico; numerous extended family members.

In addition to his parents, Dewey was preceded in death by his brother; Bobby Stone and sister; Betty Fisher.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00PM on Monday, December 6, 2021.  Visitation will be prior from 1:00PM - 3:00PM.  Both will be held at Howards Mill First Church of God, 4367 Howards Mill Road Mt. Sterling, Kentucky.  Pastor David Campbell will be officiating.  A luncheon will be held following the service in memory of Dewey D. Stone.
