Dorothy Lee (Cornett) Combs

Dorothy Lee Cornett Combs, 88, of Frenchburg, died Tuesday morning, December 1, 2020 at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead.  She was born in Hopkins County, Kentucky on February 13, 1932 to the late Major Cornett and Eula Lee Preston Youell.

Dorothy moved to Mt. Sterling five years ago from Letcher County and she was a school bus driver, retired from the Letcher County school board.  She enjoyed; sewing, quilting, cooking and traveling.  She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by one son, Eddie Combs (Fannie) of Frenchburg; two daughters,  Barbara Thornsberry of Frenchburg and Patricia Bates of Whitesburg; four grandchildren, Randy Halcomb, Jeff Halcomb, Denny Thornsberry and Tonya Combs; four great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Jack Fultz of Dayton, Ohio and Cleon Cornett (Pat) of Cumberland.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Combs; one granddaughter, Jessica Seals; five brothers,  Major Preston Cornett, Herbert Cornett, William Fultz, Jim Fultz and George Fultz; one sister, Helen Cornett.
