It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Douglas Darwin Dykes, 67, a United States Air Force veteran and a graduate of Wolfe County High School. Born in Mt. Sterling, on March 27, 1957, to the late Denzil Dykes and Loraine Burgett. He died on November 16, 2024, at his residence in Frenchburg, KY.
Douglas was a man of simple pleasures, finding joy in spending time with his family, especially during the holidays. He was a talented basketball player during his high school years and cherished the memories of his time on the court.
Throughout his life, Douglas formed lasting friendships that he held dear. Whether it was hanging out with his buddies or sharing laughter with loved ones, he valued every moment spent in the company of others. His positive outlook and infectious smile will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his beloved daughter, Denise Wages; grandchildren, Courtney Collett and Skye Collett; great grandchild, Emilia Martin; siblings, Shelia Maloney and James Dykes.
In addition to Douglas' parents, he is preceded in death by his sibling, Aaron Dykes.
