Douglas "Doug" Wayne Morris, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 6, 2025, at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, just days shy of his 81st birthday. Born on October 12, 1944, in Mt. Sterling, KY to the late Robert "R.K." Sr. and Fannie Sellers Morris. Doug dedicated his life to his family, his community, and his work.
Doug's career as a maintenance technician spanned an impressive 47 years at Bundy Tubing, now known as TI Automotive, where he made significant contributions. He was a steadfast employee, embodying hard work and dedication, traits that defined his character.
Beyond his career, Doug was a cherished member of Grassy Lick Methodist Church, where he took pride in maintaining the church grounds and building. His commitment extended beyond duties; he found joy in building connections with others, whether through his love for woodworking, afternoons spent fishing or playing cards with his church family on weekends. Doug's laughter and easy-going nature brought light to those around him, creating a legacy of warmth and camaraderie.
Doug is survived by his devoted wife, Helen Rice Morris; daughter, Treva Tipton (Kevin); grandchildren, Cole Tipton (Lindsey) and Macey Tipton; siblings, Donald Morris (Kathleen) and Diana Tutt; numerous nieces and nephews. The bonds he formed and the memories he created with them will be treasured forever.
In addition to his parents, Doug is preceded in death by his siblings, Robert "Bob" Morris, Jr., Louise Litteral, John Morris, Dallas Morris, Gary "Clyde" Morris, Clayton Morris, and Kelly Morris.
Funeral services will be held at Grassy Lick Methodist Church on Friday, October 10, 2025, at 10:00AM, where family and friends will gather to celebrate Doug's life. A visitation will take place the evening before, on Thursday, October 9, 2025, from 5:00PM-7:00PM. Following the funeral service, Doug will be laid to rest at Clarmont Memorial Gardens. Pastor Terry Rueger and Pastor Jesse Kline will be officiating.
