Dr. John Hadden Eubank DVM, 72, a beloved veterinarian known for his boundless compassion and dedication to caring for animals, passed away on July 26, 2024, in Mount Sterling. Born on August 6, 1951, he lived a life marked by kindness and selflessness. Dr. Eubank, a proud graduate of Mt. Sterling High School, demonstrated his commitment to education by earning a degree in animal science from the University of Kentucky and a doctorate in veterinary medicine from Auburn University.
Throughout his career at Spencer Creek Veterinary Clinic, Dr. Eubank touched the lives of countless animals and their owners. He approached each surgery and euthanasia with heartfelt apologies, showing a level of empathy that extended far beyond his professional duties. Though he was a private individual in matters of faith, his actions spoke volumes about his deep-rooted Christian values, which guided him in his work and interactions with others.
Survived by his sister, Martha Eubank Gruhot. Unfortunately, John didn’t have children, but his love for his assistant, Michelle Vivian resembled a father’s love. He was also close to his nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. John's legacy of compassion and unwavering dedication to the well-being of animals will forever be remembered. In honoring his memory, plans are underway to transform his clinic into a space for grooming and boarding services, alongside the search for a successor who shares his values and commitment to animal care. His kindness and love for all living creatures will continue to inspire those who knew him.
A memorial service to celebrate Dr. Eubank's life and legacy will be held at 4:00PM on Tuesday, August 6, 2024.
