With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Eddie Dean Combs, a beloved husband, father, and friend, who departed this life on Monday, November 2, 2026, at the age of 67, at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington. Born on April 22, 1959, in Linefork, Kentucky, to the late Dennis and Dorothy Cornett Combs. Eddie spent his formative years in the coal-rich regions of the Appalachian Mountains before settling in Frenchburg, Kentucky, where he lived a life dedicated to his family and community.

Eddie was a proud coal miner, a profession he embraced wholeheartedly, finding joy in the camaraderie of his fellow miners and the sense of purpose it provided him. He worked tirelessly in the mining industry, a testament to his strong work ethic and resilience. Beyond his profession, Eddie was passionate about the outdoors; he relished moments spent boat riding and casting a line into the water, where he found solace and peace. A true car enthusiast, he cherished his time spent working on cars, particularly his Chevrolet vehicles, which he would trade for the latest model every two years, showcasing his love for all things mechanical.

Most importantly, Eddie was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Fannie Combs, with whom he shared 48 beautiful years of marriage. His love and care for her were evident in every small gesture and moment they spent together. Eddie embraced family life wholeheartedly, always prioritizing the needs and happiness of his loved ones.

Eddie is survived by his beloved wife, Fannie Halcomb Combs; daughter, Tonya Adams; sisters, Patricia Bates and Barbara Thornsberry (d. Gerald); nephews, Randy Halcomb (d. Gaynell), Jeffery Halcomb (Kim), and Dennie Thornsberry (Jessica); his grand fur baby previously his late daughters,
Taz. All will carry his memory in her heart, along with the many relatives and friends whose lives he touched with his kindness, humor, and unwavering support.

In addition to his late parents, Eddie is preceded in death by his cherished daughter, Jessica Seales (Joe).

There will be a graveside service in Letcher County at a later date.

Eddie Dean Combs will be remembered not only for his work and passions but also for the profound love he shared with those around him. May he rest in peace, forever in the memories of those who loved him dearly.
