Listen to Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Edward "Eddie" C. Henry, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, businessman, and passionate sportsman, who peacefully departed from this life on Sunday, January 4, 2026, surrounded by his family, at the age of 97. He was born on April 24, 1928, in Powell County to the late Willis and Beulah Dennis Henry. Eddie's warm spirit and zest for life will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Eddie was known for his remarkable talents in various sports, particularly golf, basketball, and football, where he displayed not only skill but also sportsmanship. A true outdoor enthusiast, he found joy in fishing and cherished his bird-hunting trips to Nebraska, moments that brought him peace and fulfillment.

Professionally, Eddie was a manager and owner in the dispensary and car wash industry, serving his community with integrity and dedication. His commitment to his work was matched only by his devotion to his family, whom he cherished above all else.

He is survived by his two loving daughters, Marilyn Williams (Charlie) and Karen Sparks (Andy); grandchildren, Will Clark (Susan) and Edward Clark (Dennis) and seven grandchildren, all carry forward his legacy of love and commitment.

In addition to his late parents, Eddie is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Maye Stanley Henry and his sister, Gayle McCormick.

Graveside service on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at 10:00AM at Machpelah Cemetery. Pastor Scott Holley will be officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations in Eddie's memory to the First Christian Church, 209 West Locust Street, Mt. Sterling, Kentucky 40353.

In reflecting on his life, we remember Eddie not just for his achievements but for the love he shared. He taught us that the most important thing in life is family, and we will carry his lessons in our hearts forever. Edward "Eddie" C. Henry's spirit will continue to inspire those who knew him, as we celebrate a life well-lived.
