It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Edward Franklin Pittman, who departed this life on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at the age of 80. Born on January 30, 1946, in Middletown, Ohio. Edward spent his later years in Mt. Sterling, where he cultivated deep roots and lasting friendships.
Edward proudly served his country in the United States Navy, a time that shaped his unwavering dedication and discipline. After his military service, he embarked on a fulfilling career at A.O. Smith, where he committed his skills and energy for many years before retiring. His strong work ethic and passion for craftsmanship left a lasting impression on those who worked alongside him.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Edward was an active member of the First Christian Church, where he cherished his community and shared his vibrant spirit. Throughout his life, Edward embraced the joy of connection, whether he was participating in Boy Scouts for 30 plus years or enjoying recreational activities later in life. He found great pleasure in golfing, playing bingo, bowling, and line dancing, always welcoming the laughter and camaraderie that accompanied these joys.
Edward is survived by his daughter, Tracy Bromagen, his son, Scott Pittman, and his granddaughters, Katie and Delaney Bromagen. He took great pride in his family and will be remembered for the unconditional love and support he offered them throughout their lives.
In addition to his late parents, Edward is preceded in death by his beloved wife Sandra Pittman; mother, Kathleen Wells Strain.
