Etta "Cookie" Mae Moore Dudgeon, beloved mother, passed away peacefully at Windsor Care Center, on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on September 6, 1942, in Mt. Sterling, to the late Sidney and Maggie Dunn Moore. Etta's spirit touched the lives of many throughout her remarkable journey.
Etta devoted her professional life to legal services as a skilled paralegal, known for her diligence and compassionate approach. She held an associate's degree and worked tirelessly to support those in need of legal assistance, leaving a legacy of dedication that will be remembered by her colleagues and clients alike.
Beyond her career, Etta was a woman of many passions. She took immense joy in entertaining her family, creating lasting memories filled with laughter and love. An avid reader, she found solace in the pages of her favorite books and enjoyed discovering treasures at yard sales. Etta also cherished the simple pleasures of life, including a good nap and cheering on her beloved UK basketball team, a pastime that connected her deeply with her Kentucky roots. She was a woman of the Christian faith, and her beliefs guided her through life, providing comfort to those around her.
Etta is survived by her son, Ricky Bowles; granddaughters, Katie Allen (Will) and Megan Martinez (Adrian); great grandchildren, Will, Maggie, Micah, Morgan, and Mallory; siblings, Walter "Boots" Moore, James "Jim Bob" Moore, Rita Ingram (Eddie), and Judy Eads (Ronnie).
In addition to her late parents, Etta is preceded in death by her beloved husband Henry Bowles, Jr. and her second husband, Don Dudgeon; daughter, Lisa Bowles; sisters, Nancy Conlee, Martha Moore, and Sydney Justice; special friends and mentors, Neil and Mildred Maxey.
In reflection of Etta's life, her family invites all who loved her to join them in celebration of her spirit. Monday, December 29, 2025 at 7:00PM, visitation will be prior from 6:00PM to 7:00PM, both services at Daysprings A Church Alive, 1517 Main Street, Frenchburg, KY.
Etta Mae Dudgeon will be deeply missed, yet her legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering faith will forever remain in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
