With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Gary Wayne Arnett, a lifelong resident of Montgomery County and a steadfast presence in our community. Born on June 19, 1964, in Paintsville, to the late Dayton and Susan Mann Arnett. Gary departed this world on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at the age of 61, at his residence.
Gary was a dedicated employee, employing his skills at Kentucky Fertilizer. His unwavering commitment to his work mirrored the seriousness of his demeanor and the perfectionist nature that guided him throughout his life. He was a man of few words but profound thoughts-his quiet strength leaving an indelible mark on those who had the privilege of knowing him.
A man of faith, Gary cherished the values instilled in him through his Christian beliefs, navigating life with integrity and purpose. He enjoyed the quiet pastime of solving puzzle books, immersing himself in the world of words and numbers, and was an avid reader who found joy in the tales crafted by others. Although he had a fondness for hunting and fishing in his earlier years, it was the serenity of books and challenges that filled his days as he grew older.
Gary leaves behind his beloved wife of 21 years, Melissa Arnett, who was his steadfast companion and confidante; daughter, Andrea Rowland (Henry); grandchildren 5; siblings, Wanda gay Arnett, Nolan Arnett (Dawn), and Jerome Arnett; niece, Nikki Arnett; numerous cousins including Paula Arnett and Melanie Arnett. In the reflection of their shared life, memories of laughter and quiet companionship will forever remain a testament to the love they shared.
