It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gilbert Lee Shrout, 74, who departed this world peacefully on Monday, September 1, 2026, at his residence. Born on September 26, 1951, in Paris, Kentucky, to the late William and Leda Hall Shrout. Gilbert spent most of his life in Mt. Sterling, where he formed deep roots within the community and cherished bonds with family and friends.

His family was the cornerstone of his life, and he treasured every moment spent camping, sharing stories, and enjoying the laughter that came from his playful spirit. Known for his good-natured teasing and infectious humor, Gilbert had a gift for making people smile and a special knack for giving everyone a hard time, all in good fun.
