Gloria Alberta (Whitaker) Stevens

Gloria Alberta Whitaker Stevens, 82, of Lexington, died Tuesday afternoon, September 22, 2015, at Brookdale Rehabilitation in Lexington. She was born February 10, 1933 in Hope, Kentucky to the late John and Easter Bellamy Whitaker.
Gloria moved to Lexington 48 years ago from Baltimore, Maryland, she was a homemaker and a member of Porter Memorial Baptist Church. She enjoyed holidays, Coach Purses, watching television, camping and yard sales. Gloria had a big personality, always loved to laugh and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include; five daughters, Nancy Wheeler (Jerry) of Indian Land, S.C., Kathy Rogers of Bessemer City, N.C., Tammy Winburn (Tracy) of Nicholasville, Betty Jean Porter (Lee) of Lexington and Ruthie Jo McDaniel of Nicholasville; nine grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fourty-eight years, Ralph Stevens; three brothers, Ray Whitaker, Delmas Whitaker and Vernon Whitaker; five sisters, Bessie Walters, Bertha Hammonds, Ruby Williams, Eula Davis and Ruth Hawkins.
