Gwendolyn "Gwenkie" Kay Henson

Gwendolyn "Gwenkie" Kay Wells Henson, born on August 25, 1937, in North Middletown, KY to the late Albert Sr. and Jeanette Hunt Wells. Passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 22, 2025, surrounded by her family, at the age of 88. A lifelong resident of Bourbon County, Gwendolyn was a cherished member of the North Middletown Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and a devoted homemaker who poured her heart into creating a loving home for her family.

Gwenkie's passion for life shone brightly as she nurtured her flower gardens, built a treasured collection of antiques, and enjoyed her early years fishing-an activity that brought her much joy. Her outgoing and loving personality was a source of comfort and joy to those around her.

She leaves behind her beloved husband of 51 years, William "Bill" Henson, and a legacy of love through her children, Stephen Biddle (Janice), Terri Noble, Tammi Acree, and Brad Biddle (Kelly); 10 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Albert Wells, Jr. (Sharron). Gwenkie's spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.

 In addition to her parents, Gwendolyn is preceded in death by her sister, Betty Long; son-in-law, Jimmy Acree; and a grandson, Todd Roe.

In honor of Gwenkie's life and the warmth she brought to so many, a memorial service will be held at her home church, the North Middletown Christian Church, where friends and family will gather to celebrate her remarkable life, all are welcome. Visitation will be held Saturday, November 29th from 10:00AM to 11:00AM. Memorial service will follow at 11:00AM.

As we remember Gwendolyn "Gwenkie" Kay Henson, let us cherish the moments we shared, the laughter we enjoyed, and the love that she freely gave. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
