Henry "Reggie" Regnold Moore, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at the age of 88. Born on September 2, 1937, in Mt. Sterling, to the late William and Mary Lee Campbell Moore. Reggie dedicated his life to hard work and family. He was a loving son, husband, father and friend who left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
Reggie worked at Bundy Tubing for 16 years where he played on their softball league for many years. His girls remember spending many evenings at the ball park and getting home after dark. After Bundy, he worked as a successful home builder during which time he built over one hundred homes in Montgomery, Clark and Bourbon counties before he retired.
Reggie was a man of many passions and a fierce athletic competitor. He graduated from Montgomery County High School in 1956 and played basketball on the 1955-56 team which was recognized as the best team of the decade. He won the defensive award his senior year for his hard-nosed defense. He also played high school baseball and loved all sports.
He was always starting a project, working on a project, finishing a project, or planning his next project. He sat in his "thinking chair" as he contemplated these endeavors.
Reggie was married for 57 years to his beloved late wife, Paula Ray Moore. He is survived by two daughters, Lee Anne Moore and Susan Moore of Mt. Sterling, and granddaughter, Leslie Moore (Shiloh Reeves) of Lewisville, Texas. He was a devoted member of the First Church of God and loved playing in the Church softball league over the years.
His celebration of life will take place on Friday, May 15, 2026. Visitation will be held at the First Church of God from 10:00AM to 12:00PM, followed by a funeral service commencing at 12:00PM. Afterward, he will be laid to rest at Machpelah Cemetery, where family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of a remarkable man. Pastor David Dooley officiating.
Reggie will be dearly missed by his family and friends. His big heart, generous spirit, funny personality, and unwavering integrity will continue to inspire those he leaves behind. One of his dearest friends said today that he had passed third base and was headed for home.
