Jack Wesley Nolen, Sr., 74, of Mt. Sterling, died, Saturday, January 23, 2016, at St. Joseph Mt. Sterling. He was born July 7, 1941 in Carter County, to the late James Eldon Nolen, Sr. and Helen Ison James.
Five years ago, Jack moved from Reno, Nevada to Mt. Sterling. Jack was a wood carver, he made signs all across the United States. He had a jokester personality and he loved to tell stories and laugh. He enjoyed traveling, horse racing and all types of peanut butter. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include; four sons, Jack Nolen, Jr. (Carol) of Sharpsburg, Greg Nolen of Grayson, Shawn McPheron (Judy) of New Albany, Indiana and Brian McPheron (Tracy) of Kansas; one daughter, Isabella Parker of Mt. Sterling; three brothers, Eldon Nolen, Jr., (Janet) and James David Nolen (Delma) both of Olive Hill, Kippy James (Dana) of Grayson; one sister, Elizabeth "Libby" Fannin (Tracey) of Morehead; twelve grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jonathan Nolen.
