It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jackie Dean Rogers, who departed this life on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at the age of 83. Born on June 18, 1942, in Mt. Sterling, to the late Bud and Etta Hatton Rogers, Jackie dedicated his life to his work and family.
Jackie spent many years as an insurance appraiser, a role that allowed him to travel the state and appreciate the varied terrain and people of Kentucky. In 2017, he relocated to Jeffersonville, from the Hope/Means area, where he continued to enjoy the simple pleasures of life. A quiet man of faith, Jackie found solace in nature - spending countless hours delighting in the seasonal birds that visited his feeders, along with the squirrels. Among his other joys in life were his fondness for westerns, playing rook, family vacations, tinkering in his shop, camping, and fishing.
Jackie is survived by his children, Vernon Rogers (Diana) and Jacqulyn Whitecotton (Jim); grandchildren, Christopher Rogers (LeeAnne), Kyle Rogers (Megan), Skylar Smith (Kelly), Karli Ross (Jon D.), James Rogers, and Hannah Uzzle (Kaleb); great grandchildren, Lydia Ross, Kendyn Rogers, Lylah Ross, Jon Michale Ross, Arthur Uzzle, Beau Rogers, Patrick Uzzle, and Francis Todd Uzzle; brother, Lester Rogers; brother-in-law, Clarence Spencer, Jr.(Teresa); brother-in-law's, Charlie Pucket and Clarence Spencer. Jr.
In addition to his parents, Jackie is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patricia Spencer Rogers; siblings, Albert Rogers, Ester Tacket, Clayton Rogers, Dewey Clay Rogers, Clyde Rogers, and Gladys Irene Rogers.
Memorial service will be Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 1:00PM, Crosspoint Church, 6625 Mt. Sterling Rd., Winchester, KY 40391. Pastor Ronnie Taylor will be officiating.
Jackie Dean Rogers will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. May he forever live on in our hearts and memories.
