It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Jackie Dewayne Sterling, aged 66, who left this world on August 28, 2025. Born on November 26, 1958, in Lexington, to the late Minor and Beulah Barnes Sterling. Jackie was a cherished husband, father, brother, and friend, whose life was marked by a profound love for family, community, and sports.

Growing up in Lexington, Jackie was a member of the Greater Liberty Baptist Church and cultivated his faith at a young age. He graduated from Bryan Station High School in 1976, where he was actively involved in ROTC. His pursuit of knowledge led him to the University of Kentucky, where he spent a couple of years before carving out a successful career.

Jackie dedicated 20 years of his life to Nestle as a machine operator, where he was celebrated for his strong work ethic and camaraderie among colleagues. He had a deep love for sports, passionately rooting for the University of Kentucky's basketball and football teams, Ohio State University football, and the Cincinnati Reds. He could often be found watching games and sharing his enthusiasm with loved ones.

Known for his infectious laughter and playful spirit, Jackie was a people person who never met a stranger. His joy in life was amplified by the company of his wife, Sheilah, with whom he shared 37 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they created a family filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.

Jackie enjoyed capturing life's moments and sharing them on social media, often surprising friends with his infamous
photobombs. His love for travel opened new adventures, further enriching his life and those around him.
