James Everett Bowling, a member of the Owingsville community, passed away at his residence on Sunday, October 4, 2026, at the age of 69. Born on July 4, 1957, in Ohio, to the late Norman Bowling and the late Evelyn Callaghan. James dedicated 37 years of his life to Bath County, where he became a cherished friend and neighbor to many.

James was a proud truck driver for Admiral Merchants Motor Freight, a role that not only provided for his family but also fueled his adventurous spirit. His passion for the open road was only matched by his enthusiasm for demolition derby events, where he both participated and cheered on others with fervor and joy. A devoted fan of NASCAR, James never missed an opportunity to discuss the latest races or to show off his beloved pickup truck, a hobby that brought him both pride and satisfaction.

As a man of the Christian faith, James found comfort and purpose in his beliefs, often sharing his wisdom and kindness with those around him. He had a deep love for bluegrass music, creating an inviting atmosphere wherever he went, especially during family gatherings. Above all, James cherished the time spent with his family. The memories created will forever be etched in their hearts.

James will be remembered not just for his passions but for the warmth he brought to the lives of those fortunate enough to know him. He is survived by his children, Sabrina Justice (Tim) and Josh Branham (Mara); grandchildren, Cassandra Bussell (Hunter), James Kissick, Zoey Robinson, Mason Branham, Lillian Lewis (Alex), Thomas Justice, and Justin Stacy; great grandchildren, Paizlee, Huntleigh, Bailee, Bryleigh, Hudson, Mayla, Holden, and Tucker; siblings, Madeline Humphreys (Jerry), Cecil Bowling, Michelle Lee (Butch), and Billy Bowling (Martha); and several special nieces and nephews. Along with the love of his life Linda Lewis. All will carry forward his legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering support.

In addition to his late parents, James is preceded in death by his stepmother, Marcella Bowling; sister, Gail Leach; beloved aunt, Jean Baab.

The family will gather to honor James's life with a celebration of life service at Lakeview Community Church, 581 Cave Run Lake Road, Salt Lick, Kentucky on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at 1:00PM. Reverend Michael Baab and Pastor Eddie Dennison will be officiating. Friends and loved ones will be invited to pay their respects and celebrate the man who brought so much joy to others.

In this time of reflection, we invite all who knew James Everett Bowling to join in remembering a life well-lived, marked by a love of family, community, and the simple joys that made each day special.
