James "Jim" Allen Roberts, Sr.

James "Jim" Allen Roberts, Sr., 77, of Mt. Sterling, died Thursday, March 10, 2016 at Baptist Health. He was born July 30, 1938 in Bourbon County to the late Paul and Olema Hardin Roberts.
Jim moved to Montgomery County forty years ago from Bourbon County, a United States Air Force veteran, retired from Bluegrass Army Depot as a security communication specialist. He enjoyed boating, water sports, farming, computers, woodworking and UK basketball and most of all, spending time with his family. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include; his wife, Karlin Klingler Roberts of Mt. Sterling; two sons, James Allen Roberts, Jr. of Bourbon County and Geoff Kampe, Jr. (Darla) of Mt. Sterling; three grandchildren, Cody Kampe and Connor Kampe, both of Mt. Sterling and Kristen Roberts of Clark County; one sister, Libby Overtoom of Lexington; brother-in-law, Sherman Traylor of Lexington.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Phyllis Traylor.
