Janet Marie Koch

Janet Marie Koch, of Mt. Sterling, passed away on September 29, 2024, at the age of 72. She was born on October 7, 1951, in Alexandria, VA, to the late Bill and Shirley Santulla Koch. Janet held a Master's Degree and worked tirelessly as an educator, leaving a lasting impact on her students and colleagues at Camargo Elementary.

 Throughout her life, Janet found joy in flower gardening, immersing herself in books, and embracing the serenity of the beach. Her vibrant personality, contagious laugh, and unwavering strength of character endeared her to all who knew her. Janet's selflessness shone through in her dedication to putting others first and cherishing moments spent with her family.

She is survived by her daughters Debryn Boyd (Robert), and Ashley Sorrell; grandchildren, Bella Boyd, and Jacob Flinchum; sister, Jennifer Kennedy (Fred); special friend, John Chapman; cat fur baby, Mickey. 

A Memorial Service to celebrate Janet's life is scheduled for Thursday, October 3, 2024, at 12:00 pm at Coffman Funeral Home & Crematory, preceded by a Visitation at 10:00 am. Officiating will be Pastor Anthony Castle.

Janet will be fondly remembered for her zest for life and the love she shared with those around her. Her legacy of kindness and grace will resonate in the hearts of all who were touched by her presence.
