Jeffery Dee Thompson, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington at the age of 62. Born on October 2, 1963, in Mt. Sterling, to the late Henry Dee and Loretta Miles Thompson. Jeff was a lifelong resident who embraced the simple joys of life and the warmth of family and friendship.

Jeff spent many fulfilling years as a Warehouse Coordinator with L3. His reliability and willingness to lend a helping hand endeared him to colleagues and friends alike. Beyond his work, Jeff's true passion was his family, with whom he treasured every moment spent-be it exploring music festivals, especially those featuring bluegrass music, or indulging in the camaraderie of cheering on his beloved University of Kentucky basketball team.

Jeff had an adventurous spirit, often finding joy in visiting flea markets and yard sales, where he loved to discover hidden treasures. He and his wife, Yvonna, shared countless delightful outings to local mom-and-pop restaurants, embracing the charm of home-cooked meals. His character shone brightly through his playful banter, and the joy he found in giving others a hard time was rooted in the deep affection he held for them.

A man of Christian faith, Jeff's belief reflected in his kindness and his commitment to helping others.

He is survived by his loving wife, Yvonna Adams Thompson; sons, Ben Thompson and Jordan Thompson; siblings, Anita McClain (Gerald) and Mark Thompson.

In addition to his parents, Jeff is preceded in death by his sister, Tina Renee Thompson.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at Howards Mill Baptist Church, where loved ones and community members will gather to celebrate Jeff's life and spirit. Visitation will begin at 10:00AM, followed by the service at 12:00PM. Following the service, Jeff will be laid to rest in a serene burial at the McClain Family Cemetery. Artie Amburgey will be officiating.
