Jonathan "Levi" McCarty

November 3, 1997 — August 23, 2023

Jonathan "Levi" McCarty, 25, of Owingsville, passed away peacefully Wednesday afternoon, August 23, 2023, surrounded by his loving family at his residence. He was born November 3rd, 1997 in Conroe, Texas to Sarah Louise McCarty Withrow.

Levi was born in Conroe, Texas, moved to Salt Lick, Kentucky at the age of three years old, and has lived in Owingsville for the last eight years, however, always considered Salt Lick his home.  His greatest memories were during his childhood years in Salt Lick, remembering the bond he and his brothers developed, which was unbreakable, as well as the many years of volunteering at St Joseph Hospital in Mt Sterling. He was of the Jehovah Witness belief, graduate of Bath County High School, class of 2016, and a former security guard for Allied-Universal.  Levi was a talented yet simple, uncomplicated, logical, humble, and meek young man who always found the best in every situation. He was looked up to by his younger siblings and he always, under any circumstance, put others’ needs and feelings before his own, of which he held great pride in. He played baritone in his middle school and high school years, and enjoyed video games and being in nature.  He will be dearly missed and never forgotten by all who knew him.

Levi is survived by his wife Megan McCarty of Owingsville; mother, Sarah McCarty Withrow (Jesse) of Owingsville; two brothers, Matthew Chance Hardin of Owingsville, Zachary Allen Stamper of Owingsville; sister, Chassity Brooke Clark of Owingsville; grandparents, Audrey Lou (Rose) Ferrell, Johnny Lee McCarty, Twila and Tommy Hardin, all of Salt Lick; special uncle and best friend, Daniel Aaron McCarty of Salt Lick; special nephew, Brayden "Bean" Frazier of Owingsville; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

A private celebration of Levi's life, to commemorate the great impact he molded onto others, unselfishly and unknowingly, will take place at a later date.
