Josephine Johnson Brush

Josephine Johnson Brush, 77, of Mt. Sterling, died Thursday, November 20, 2014 at St. Joseph Mt. Sterling. She was born June 6, 1937 in Perry County to the late Elmer and Velva Combs Johnson.

Josephine had resided in Clay City before moving to Montgomery County thirty-five years ago. She was a homemaker and a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Clay City. She enjoyed reading, spending time with her family, fellowship at family reunions, going to church and listening to singing. Josephine will be remembered as being very selfless and she will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Survivors include; one daughter, Patricia Darlene Brush Willoughby (Robert) of Mt. Sterling; one brother, Roy Johnson (Debra) of Clay City; three grandchildren, Ashley Coons (Lantz) of Mt. Sterling, Mabel Wiler (Gary) of Mt. Sterling and Hazel Tufano (Micha) of Jeffersonville; five great grandchildren, Brandon Wiler (Cortlynn), Logan Wiler, Kelly Thornberry (Dillon), and Akin Coons all of Mt. Sterling and Grace Tufano of Jeffersonville; her beloved dog, Abigail.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold Johnson and Ronnie Johnson; one sister, Thelma Johnson Muncie.

Pallbearers: Robert Willoughby, Lantz Coons, Nathan Johnson, Casey Johnson, Micha Tufano, Doodle Johnson, Roy Johnson and Gary Wiler.
