Juanita Dee Pratt

Juanita Dee Pratt, passed away peacefully at Windsor Care in Mt. Sterling, on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at the age of 91. Born on May 8, 1934, in Louisville, to the late Dan Pratt and Mary Barnes Pratt Braden.

Though she never held formal employment, Juanita brought immense warmth to the lives of those around her. She was known for her genuine spirit, always seeing the good in everyone she met. Her caring nature was evident in her love for children, as she devoted many years to babysitting with her mother while residing in Louisville. Juanita's affectionate gestures, like warm love pats on the hand or arm, became a hallmark of her gentle personality, ensuring all who crossed her path felt cherished.

Family gatherings held a special place in Juanita's heart. She delighted in holiday celebrations, where the rich aroma of good home-cooked meals filled the air, and the sounds of gospel music resonated throughout the home. Juanita often shared her love of music with Harold, finding joy and solace in their harmonious singing and piano playing. A woman with a notorious sweet tooth, she found pleasure in indulging in homemade cream candy, peanut butter fudge, and rolls, which brought smiles to everyone's faces.

Juanita leaves behind her beloved cousins, Ann Barker (Harold), Aliciann Moberly (Bentley), Brooks Barker (Sandy), Alissa Kendrick, Hillary Kendrick, and Parker Kendrick who will forever treasure the memories they shared. 

In addition to her parents, Juanita is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Will & Georgia Ann Barnes.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Juanita's life on Monday, June 23, 2025, with a visitation at Coffman Funeral Home & Crematory starting at 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM. A private family committal will take place at Machpelah Cemetery on Tuesday. Pastor Anthony Castle will be officiating.
