Linda Ann Reid Stone, 80, of Mt. Sterling passed away on Friday evening, June 16, 2023 at St. Joseph Mt. Sterling, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Nicholas County, Kentucky on July 6, 1942 to the late William and Nellie Shields Reid.
Linda had been a resident of Montgomery County for the past fifty-six years, a member of First Christian Church, graduate of Nicholas County High School, class of 1960 and former child care assistant supervisor. In 1957, Linda became the Dairy Princess at the Blackberry Festival in Carlisle. She was also a member of the Women's Auxiliary at the American Legion Post 20. She was an avid reader and enjoyed, flower and vegetable gardening, canning, sewing and taking care of her family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Linda is survived by her son, Anthony Boyd (Kathy) of Mt. Sterling; daughters Penny Toy (Shane) of Mt. Sterling and Robin Hatton (Shane) of Mt. Sterling; grandchildren, Krista Luttrell (Dustin), Sarah Pruitt (Robert), Olivia Beckham, Marc Anthony Boyd, Michael Shane Hatton, Victoria Warner (Jeramiah), Hunter Toy and Eliza Toy; great grandchildren, Katie Katherine Pruitt, Declan Luttrell and Grayson Luttrell; brothers, Douglas Reid (Pat) of Florida and Clifford Reid (Elaine) of Mt. Sterling; special friends, Keith and Darlene Ruthenburg and her dog, Roseanne.
In addition to her parents Linda was preceded in death by husbands, Edger "Jake" Boyd, Henry "Penny" Stone and Fred Hammonds; brothers, Charles Reid and Stanley Reid; sister, Roberta Branham.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday, June 20, 2023. Visitation will be held prior from 9:00AM - 11:00AM. Both will be held at First Christian Church, 222 West Main Street Mt. Sterling, Kentucky 40353. Committal will follow the funeral service at Machpelah Cemetery. Pastor Scott Holley will be officiating.
Pallbearers: Marc Anthony Boyd, Hunter Toy, Jeramiah Warner, Dustin Luttrell, Robert Pruitt and Shane Toy.
Honorary Pallbearers: James Declan Luttrell and Grayson Dean Luttrell.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Linda's memory to First Christian Church 222 West Main Street Mt. Sterling, Kentucky 40353.
