Lucille (Wingate) Greer

Lucille Wingate Greer, 83, of Mt. Sterling, died Thursday evening, June 11, 2020 at St. Joseph Hospital.  She was born in Mt. Sterling on November 1, 1936 to the late Holly and Sula Collins Wingate Moreland.

Lucille was a lifelong resident of Mt. Sterling and a member of First United Methodist Church.  She enjoyed gospel music, being involved with ministry, traveling and watching her television programs such as the Travel channel and the Discovery channel.  Lucille always looked forward to going out to eat with her sister and other outings with family.  She loved her friends and family and they will miss her dearly.

She is survived by one daughter, Tammy Rairden (Billy) of Frenchburg; one sister, Charlene Moreland Roberts (James W.) of Owingsville; one brother, Charles Moreland (Brenda) of Lexington; five grandchildren, Shawnna, William, Jake, Rachael and Alex; four great grandchildren, Taylor, Cameron, Miranda, Kaitlynn and extended family member Shannon McBrayer of Frenchburg.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her late husband, James Morris Greer; one daughter, Sula Rudder and one brother, John William Moreland.
