October 20, 1962 — November 12, 2022

Malcolm "Mike" Eugene Smith, 60, of Mt. Sterling, passed away Saturday afternoon, November 12, 2022 at his residence.  He was born October 20, 1962, in Dayton, Ohio to the late Gene Smith and Mary Becraft  Smith Halsey.

Mike was a lifelong resident of Montgomery County, former engineering surveyor and veteran of the United States Army.  He loved living in the country close to Genea.  Loved to watch the deer in his yard.  Mike was a big hearted, independent, strong willed, smart, funny man who enjoyed Ky Lottery Scratch offs, going to Keeneland and attending concerts with his sister, Genea.  Loved playing practical jokes on others but not so much being played on him.  He was particular about his yard, was an avid New Orleans Saints football fan and loved spending time with his nephews and friends at the Shell Station in Mt. Sterling.  Mike will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Survivors include his son Cody Smith (Casey) of Mt. Sterling; brother; Darrell Ensor (Kathryn) of Danville; two sisters; Genea Arrasmith (Phil) of Mt. Sterling and Marsha Loredo (Pepe) of Mt. Sterling; two nephews; Dillon Arrasmith of Mt. Sterling and Dustin Arrasmith of Mt. Sterling.

In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his brother Gary Ensor.
