Margaret Ann Scott Crump, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at the age of 86. She was born on March 21, 1939, to the late Harry Sr. and Virginia Risner Scott in Mt. Sterling, where she lived her entire life, creating a warm and loving home for her family.
A woman of faith, Margaret taught Sunday School in her early years. Her commitment to her Christian values guided her every action, profoundly influencing those who knew her. As a devoted homemaker, she lovingly cared for her family, especially during the last 20 years of her husband's life when he faced health challenges. Her strength, compassion, and unwavering support exemplified the true spirit of motherhood.
Margaret was known for her culinary talents, delighting her family with meals that brought them together at the dinner table. A passionate UK basketball fan, she found joy in cheering for her team, sharing this enthusiasm with loved ones and friends. Her flower garden was a testament to her nurturing nature, blossoming with vibrant colors that reflected the beauty she brought into the lives of those around her.
Margaret is survived by her children, Randy Crump, Carla Crump, and Kevin Crump; grandchildren, Sasha Conley, Kerri Craycraft, and Mark Crump; great grandchildren, Zoey Craycraft, Khloe Creech, Claudia Riddle, and Maverick Riddle; sister, Shelby Lindon; special friends, Lisa Kincaid and Tracy McNabb. Her absence will be felt deeply by all who had the privilege to know her.
In addition to her late parents, Margaret is preceded in death by her beloved husband James Crump; son, Dustin Crump; brothers, Harry Scott, Jr. and Tommy Scott.
