Marvin Ray Pargen, 86, of Salt Lick, died Monday, November 28, 2016 at Ridgeway Nursing and Rehabilitation in Owingsville. He was born May 14, 1930 in Montgomery County to the late Alfred and Sarah Harris Pargen.
Marvin moved to Bath County seven years ago from Montgomery County. He was a automotive mechanic, one of the best with Volkswagens. Marvin enjoyed; woodworking, building dune buggies, solving mechanical puzzles, riding motorcycles and working on guns. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include; one son, Carlos Pargen of Salt Lick; one daughter, Cynthia Lynam of Salt Lick; one brother, Bobby Pargen (Bonnie) of Jeffersonville; one grandson, Scottie Wightman (Della) of Salt Lick; one great grandson, Derek Wightman (Emily Mattison) of Mt. Sterling; one great- great grandson, Ryker Wightman of Mt. Sterling.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Maggie Pargen; brother, James Pargen; sister, Irene Steele; granddaughter, Katherlynn Wightman; great-great grandson, Archer Wightman.
