Mary Jeannette Frame Johns, age 81, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2026, at Bourbon Heights Nursing Home in Paris, Kentucky.
Born August 13, 1944, in Maysville, Kentucky, Jeannette lived a life defined by kindness, dedication, humor, and deep love for her family. She was the beloved wife of George Gibson Johns for 52 years, with whom she shared a remarkable bond, enduring friendship, and lifelong devotion.
Jeannette devoted her life to education, touching countless young lives throughout her career as an elementary and middle school teacher in both public and private schools. A proud graduate of Morehead State University, Class of 1967, she believed deeply in the power of learning and created classrooms filled not only with knowledge but with warmth and comfort. Her students fondly remember the welcoming atmosphere she created - often made even more special by the ferns she lovingly brought from home each fall to make her classroom feel inviting and alive.
She found joy in life's simple and beautiful moments. Jeannette loved playing the piano, reading, solving crossword puzzles, antiquing, and spending time on her computer. She had a lifelong love of horses, especially enjoyed attending Tennessee Walking Horse shows, and loved boating at Cave Run Lake. She was also a dog lover who found great companionship and joy in her pets throughout her life.
She embraced technology with enthusiasm and humor, often referring to the internet as her "information machine," which she used with curiosity and delight. Flowers brought her great happiness, and she nurtured them just as lovingly as she did by the people around her.
Above all else, Jeannette was devoted to her family. She was the loving mother of Mary Kristina (Kelly) Johnson and a proud and adoring grandmother to Grace Karoline (Preston) Pearl and Davis Kelly Johnson. Nothing brought her greater joy than time spent with her grandchildren, whom she loved beyond measure. Additionally, she was lovingly introduced to her great-granddaughter, Eva Frances Pearl, a moment that brought her quiet joy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Constance Frame, and her brother, Charles Anthony Frame. In addition to her husband, daughter, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter, she is survived by her cherished sister-in-law, Peggy Frame, her lifelong best friend, Faye Logan, nephew Charles Patterson (Michell) Frame along with many extended family members, former students, colleagues, and friends whose lives were enriched by knowing her.
Jeannette will be remembered for her warmth, quick wit, and remarkable ability to offer guidance with grace and gentleness. She always seemed to know exactly what to say, giving advice that comforted and encouraged without judgment. She loved deeply, laughed often, and lived fully. To her family, she was simply the best wife, mother, and grandmother anyone could ever hope for.
The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the staff of Ridgeway Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Owingsville and Bourbon Heights Nursing Home in Paris for the loving kindness, compassion, and exceptional care they provided to Jeannette. Words feel insufficient to fully express the appreciation for the dignity, patience, and warmth she received while in their care.
A memorial service will be held at the Coffman Funeral Home & Crematory Sunday, April 26th at 2:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her honor to Ridgeway Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, 406 Wyoming Road, Owingsville, Kentucky 40360, for their activities department.
