Mary Juanita Jones Oaks, wife of the late Hyman R Oaks, passed away peacefully Wednesday August 24, 2022, surrounded by her family at St Joes East Hospital in Lexington, KY. She was an 87-year-old born in Sharpsburg, Kentucky to the union of the late Carl and Grace Triplett Jones. She was a member of the Antioch Christian Church.

Juanita was a Full-Time mom and loved her children, raising 5 children all while helping on the farm and working outside of the home at Cowden’s, Jockey and others. In her later years, she was a Caregiver to many in the community. She was always there to help with any endeavors or dreams us kids decided to adventure in to.

Juanita is survived by a sister, Ruth Welch; 1 Daughter, Grace “Shelly” Oaks Marshall (Tip); 4 Sons, Sherman Oaks (Sharri), Melvin Oaks (Kim), Mark T Oaks and Hyman Oaks JR; 10 Grandchildren, Roger, Treva, Aseia, Sydney, Stephanie, Leisha, Madison, Katie, Kelly and Franklin; 10 Great-Grandchildren and 3 Great-Great Grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Juanita was preceded in death by her spouse of 63 years, Hyman R Oaks; 4 Brothers, William Jones, Everett Jones, Charles Jones and Carl Jones JR; 1 Sister, Carolyn Jones Stewart and 1 Grandson, Sherman Brent Oaks.

In keeping with Mom’s wishes, in lieu of funeral services, the family will have a Celebration of Life Ceremony at the Valley Oaks Venue on Sunday September 18, 2022, from 2-5 pm. Come and remember all of the better days with us.
