Maxine (Dunagan) Bigstaff

November 2, 1922 — December 9, 2016

Maxine Dunagan Bigstaff, 94, of Mt. Sterling, died Friday, December 9, 2016 at St. Joseph Mt. Sterling. She was born November 2, 1922 in Wayne County to the late Foxie and Nora Belle Roberts Dunagan.

Maxine attended Lindsey Wilson College in the Cumberland's, Western Kentucky, University of Louisville and Columbia University. She received a teaching certificate at Lindsey Wilson College and began teaching at the age of 19 and also served as supervisor for many years in the Montgomery county school system.

Survivors include; her son, T.J. Bigstaff (Becky) of Mt. Sterling; one grandson, Tee Bigstaff (Kristianna); two great grandchildren, Kara Bigstaff and Laura Bigstaff; one sister, Wanda Jones of Louisville.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Tom Bigstaff; two sisters, Anna Joe Selnick and Jean Hayes.
