McKinley Vance, aged 78, of Mt. Sterling, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at his home, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on August 16, 1947, in Hazard, to the late Randolph and Marie Stubblefield Vance.

A proud Army veteran of the Vietnam War, McKinley served his country with honor and dedication. Following his military service, he embarked on a fulfilling career as a truck driver for Bob's Food Service and Heili Meyer.

McKinley cherished the simple joys in life. An avid
 outdoorsman, he found great pleasure in hunting rabbit and squirrel, as well as fishing in the tranquil waters of Kentucky. He had a special knack for cleaning and waxing his vehicles, ensuring they always shone as brightly as his spirited personality. A talented cook and baker, he delighted family and friends with culinary creations that brought people together around the dinner table.

A sports fan, McKinley passionately supported UK basketball, Reds baseball, and Bengals football. His enthusiasm for these teams mirrored his zest for life. Known for his
 jokester personality, he loved to bring smiles and laughter to those around him, always ready to share a lighthearted jest or a matter-of-fact observation. 

Survived by his beloved wife, Joyce Corey Vance, for 57 wonderful years; children, Sharon Mullins and Shane Vance; grandchildren, Kayla McClain (Kevin), Amber Vance, and Madison 
Damron; great grandchildren, Daniella Vance, Twyla Vance, Elijah Hon, and Easton McMillen; siblings, Rose Lee Richards, Garnetta CraycraftLiddie Mae Goodwin, Darrell Vance (Marcia), Michael Vance, David Vance, Freddy Joe Vance, Jeff Vance, and Jerry Vance (Michelle). McKinley was a dedicated family man who treasured every moment spent with his loved ones. His enduring love and commitment to Joyce were evident in their time together, filled with warmth and companionship.

In addition to his late parents, McKinley is preceded in death by his grandson, Dillan Vance; siblings, Arthur Vance, Ralph Vance, and Angela Fair.

McKinley Vance will be deeply missed by his wife, Joyce, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of humor, love, and devotion will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those he leaves behind. May he rest in eternal peace.
