Melissa Joy Carpenter, 43, of Mt. Sterling, died Thursday, July 24, 2014. She was born February 9, 1971 to J.L. and Mary Carolyn Martin Carpenter.
Joy was a Montgomery County native; a 1989 graduate of Montgomery County High School and a graduate of Rowan Technical College where she earned her LPN degree.
Survivors include; her parents, J.L. Carpenter (Cherie Lynn) of Jeffersonville and Mary Carolyn Carpenter of Mt. Sterling; two sons, Jaden Chase Sloan and Cameron Trace Sloan both of Morehead; stepsister, Anna Marie Reeves of Jeffersonville.
